Alisdair PatersonTechnical DirectorExperienced in designing and implementing advanced visualisation solutions. Alisdair is responsible for the technical and solution architecture VRS customers’ virtual reality centres. His principal activity is the lead of technical design, installation and support for large scale immersive solutions throughout the region. With considerable experience in visual simulation consultancy, audio visual development and technical support for the entire range of system components, different type of projection technology ranging from traditional CRT through to Laser based devices, Audio , Tracking and Control systems, he has gained an in depth knowledge of virtual reality/simulation systems and he has personally installed over twenty sites across Asia. Under Alisdairs’ direction, the systems design team liaise closely with customers and suppliers ensure that solutions are designed, installed and supported to meet customer requirements, for the whole of life operation. The scope of works include identifying environmental requirements such as air-conditioning, lighting, potential noise pollution issues etc through to working with the On site electricians and computer data technicians. VRS is a worldwide business unit including consulting, customer support and education. VRS is successfully delivering customer projects with particular expertise in, virtual environments, simulation and computer graphics applications. VRS is providing solutions to the government, defence, manufacturing, education/sciences, communications, entertainment and resources sectors. Prior to the formation of VR Solutions, Alisdair was employed as a Technical Director for Australia’s largest Audio Visual company, where consulted on large scale corporate presentations using the latest technologies to assist companies with their promotional activities. Having qualified as an electrician and been employed as a chief mine electrician, Alisdair gained experience in industrial electrical engineering. This lead him into the field of electrical system design and later on designing and implementing advanced visualisation solutions for Simulation and Data mining application
