The Thinklogical line of DVI only video extenders all utilize a single fiber per DVI display. The VIS-30 extends a single link DVI video channel and supports the DDC (Display Data Channel). This extender is essentially a VIS-3 DVI Video Extender, except the VIS-30 comes with a local display port (DVI-D on the transmitter). If DDC is required in your application, the VIS-23 DVI Video Extender is the VIS-30 equivalent without DDC support. The VIS-30 features a small package and requires a transmitter power supply (cube, included) for the additional circuitry necessary to power the local display. The VIS-30 is available with a single ST fiber connector and a single DVI-D video connector on both the transmitter and receiver. The VIS-23 DVI video extender has a power indicator light and a link status LED, which will indicate the presence (or lack) of sufficient optical power for the extender to operate within specification, possibly revealing a fiber infrastructure problem, such as a bad connection or a broken fiber.
