The VIS-35 fiber optic KVM extender is a complete solution for triple-head video & KVM applications. The Thinklogical VIS-35 is comprised of a transmitter device, which is co-located with the computer or source machine, and a receiver device, which is co-located with 3 DVI displays and a desktop KMAS devices. Four dedicated multimode fibers connect the transmitter to the receiver at distances up to 1,000 meters. The VIS-35 has DVI outputs, but like all Thinklogical extenders, the VIS-35 is fully compatible with all other Thinklogical extenders. The transmitter from one VIS extender may be used with any VIS extender receiver(s). This unique feature allows customers to extend digital (DVI) sources to analog (RGB) destinations and vice versa. The VIS-35 KMAS element can translate standard input device signals at the transmitter end (USB, PS2, Sun legacy) and output that signal to any type of input device at the receiver end. (USB => PS2, PS2=>Sun, etc). Additionally, the VIS-35 supports all other KMAS elements, including keyboards, mice, full duplex audio and serial devices. The Vis-35 is a digital fiber optic transmitter/receiver system. All video and KMAS signals from the computer source are digitized and converted to light (optical signals) at the transmitter. These optical signals are then sent to the VIS-35 receiver via 4 fibers; 3 of these fibers transmit the video and 1 fiber transmits the KMAS signals. Upon receipt of the encoded data from the transmitter, the VIS-35 receiver converts the video and KMAS signals back from optical to electronic standard connections. No external converter boxes are involved. The system has connectivity for all common keyboard and mouse types (USB, PS2 and Sun legacy). All electronic conversion, remapping and even international translation is supported.
